The project proposes the development of a technological process at the laboratory phase - TRL 4 - by obtaining scalable multicomponent hydrogels (MCH) with enhanced healing capacity to be utilized for treating wounds caused by diabetes mellitus.
Starting from these aspects, ScalGelHeal aims to obtain:
(i) MCH usable in the treatment of diabetic wounds
(ii) investigate and develop strategies for scaling up the hydrogel preparation process from laboratory scale to larger quantities, considering factors such as batch consistency and efficiency.
In this context, a device created by the SME (Rezistoterm SA) will be used to develop reproducible hydrogel formulations thus pursuing, at a later stage to implement more efficient technologies in the specific fields of bioengineering and health. |
