Nanocomposite Materials with Thermoregulation through Multiple Mechanisms, Usable in Multiple Climate Zones Across a Wide Temperature Range

The specific key objectives for this project developed together with the commercial partner and the data generated will form the basis for the development to a more advanced TRL (Technological Readiness Level) to reach commercialization of our technology.

Therefore, in order to achieve TRL4 in this project, we set the following objectives:

Objective 1: Design and fabrication of nanocomposite materials with adaptive infrared and thermoregulatory capabilities by multiple mechanisms (evaporation, conduction, convection, and radiation) with a competitive cost of < 10 € per linear meter;

Objective 2: Engineering of an innovative element of clothing with adaptive thermoregulatory capabilities, integrating the nanocomposite materials mentioned in Objective 1;

Objective 3: Validation of the process consisting in laboratory testing for the thermoregulatory clothing as active thermal comfort platform for human users;

Objective 4: Increased visibility of the team and host institution with at least three research papers describing fundamental results in ISI peer-reviewed journals
