Wednesday, April 15th, 2026, at 11:00 AM, Professor Mihai Duduţǎ, University of Connecticut, USA, will lecture about “Soft Active Materials in Extreme Environments”.
Mihai Duduţǎ graduated in Materials Science and Engineering from MIT, later becoming the first employee of 24M Technologies, a start-up founded to commercialize a battery technology that he co-invented. He began his doctoral studies at Harvard University, published a paper that won first prize at the Materials Research Society Fall Meeting 2018 and was nominated for the best paper award at ICRA 2018. His postdoctoral work at the University of Minnesota was supported by a Medical Device Innovation Fellowship, an NSF I-Corps Fellowship, as well as seed funding from the Minnesota Robotics Institute. His research in Canada has been supported by grants from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC – Discovery Grant, Idea to Innovation), the Canadian Foundation for Innovation, the New Frontiers Research Fund, etc. For his work in the field of targeted microcatheters, he received the Banting Foundation Discovery Award in 2022.
