In response to the environmental issues, intensive efforts have been made to develop sustainable energy solutions. One challenging technology is based on electrochromic (EC) materials that are recognized as advanced materials. Thus, this proposal fits into very hot research topics: “Energy” and ”Advanced Materials”, which falls in the thematic areas of HORIZON EUROPE, Pillar II‒“Climate, Energy and Mobility” and “Digital, Industry and Space”. The main objective of this proposal is to synthesis novel phenoxazine-based polymers as active layers for lab scale hybrid prototype devices integrating near infrared electrochromism (NIR) and energy storage capabilities, under a TRL4 proof of concept. The elements of originality consist in the development of phenoxazine-based polymers with a multi electron donor topology for NIR electrochromic response and enhanced energy storage. The strongest feature of this proposal consists in the theoretical and experimental expertise of the team members in the material engineering, prototype devices fabrication and characterization. To ensure the smooth flow of the project activities, the work plan will consist of 3 work packages with specific objectives. The potential risks, approaches for mitigation these risks, deliverables and milestones are also described. The impact of the project is expected mainly in the energetic and advanced materials fields and the outcome results may advance both fundamental sciences and industrial applications. |
