The project aims at developing a system for monitoring the state of stress in a quasi-stable or unstable soil mass (potential or actual landslide) to provide a realistic design input for designing stabilization measures. In order to do this, material formulations for the electrode and dielectric will be adjusted. Then, capacitive stack silicone sensor arrays will be constructed to track the changes in the stress condition of the soil masses during landslides. Silicone materials will be used as the dielectric, while alternative materials, such as metal coatings and conductive stretchable silicones will be tested as electrodes. |
