dr. Elena Perju - Scientific Researcher

CV

Dr. Elena Perju received her PhD in Chemistry from Romanian Academy in 2012. Her doctoral studies focused on synthesize and investigation of thermotropic liquid crystalline and optical properties of low molecular weight compounds and polymers, but also of same polymer dispersed liquid crystal systems. Later, she joined as Postdoc and scientist the Functional Polymers Department at Empa Switzerland, where she expanded her scientific knowledge in a new modern topic of dielectric actuators. The aim of the projects was to develop polar dielectric elastomers which can be used as dielectric devices operated at low voltages.

dr. Andrei Bejan - Scientific Researcher

CV

• Small molecule organic synthesis;
• Heterocyclic chemistry (mainly phenothiazine chemistry);

dr. Dumitru Popovici - Research Assistant

CV

After receiving his Ph.D. title from Romanian Academy in 2012 on the study of partially aliphatic polyimides, dr. Dumitru Popovici continued the study of this class of polymers for biomedical applications within a Post-Doctoral fellowship at the University "Politehnica" of Bucharest. In recent years he has focused on obtaining and studying of some conjugated polymers with electroluminescent properties that can be used as white OLEDs.
Another interest area is in-silico chemistry and in particular the simulation of UV-VIS absorption and emission spectra using quantum chemistry software for optimizing the structure of the synthesized compounds used in different optoelectronic applications.
