Abstract:
The
project aims to obtain the new biomaterials polymeric composites -
functionalized polysulfones/natural polymer and functionalized
polysulfones/synthetic polymer, pursuing the properties in order to
use them as semipermeable membranes in biomedicine. The following
research directions are proposed:
(1) Obtaining
new functionalized polysulfones and achievement of composites/blends
with the optimal properties for bioapplications
;
(2)
Researches regarding the correlation between the chemical structure and
specific properties (antimicrobial activity, film-forming properties)
to the proposed applications in biomedicine;
(3) Investigations
concerning the possibility of obtaining performed bioactive membranes
by testing the hidrophobic/hidrophilic balance and the morphological
modification of surfaces, induced by topography reorganization;
(4) Study
of flexibility properties related to hydrophilicity properties of
composites/blends, aiming the preparation of performed biomembranes
used in the immobilization of active principles;
(5) Study
the influence of surface properties and the conformation of these
complex polymeric systems, in order to modeling and interpretation the
interactions with blood plasma
;
(6) Establishing
and optimizing by specific theories and mathematical simulations of the
obtained particularly results, taking into account the complex
structure of studied systems;
(7) Testing
the biocompatibility and antimicrobial activity, using different
bacterial species.
